Hypnotherapy Code of Ethics of Kentucky Association of Hypnotherapy
Preamble
Members of the Kentucky Association of Hypnotherapists are professionals dedicated to serving clients based on a respect for the dignity and worth of the individual and on the preservation and protection of fundamental human rights. They are committed to increasing knowledge of human behavior and of people’s understanding of themselves and others and to the utilization of such knowledge for the promotion of human welfare. While pursuing these endeavors, hypnotherapists make every effort to protect the welfare of those who seek their services.
Members of the Kentucky Association of Hypnotherapists shall strive to maintain the highest standards of competence in their work and shall provide only those services and use only those techniques, for which they are qualified by education, framing and experience, They shall maintain knowledge of relevant scientific and, professional information related to hypnosis, and shall recognize the need for continuing education.
Responsibilities
Confidentiality
(I) Information received in confidence must be revealed to appropriate professionals or public authorities when necessary to protect an individual or the public from a clear and imminent danger.
(2) Information obtained in clinical or consulting relationships, or evaluative data concerning children, students, employees and others may be discussed for professional purposes with persons clearly concerned with the case.
(3) Clinical and other materials may be used in teaching and writing only when the identity of the persons involved is protected.
(4) Identity of research Subject may be published only upon written permission of the persons involved and the clinical Hypnotherapist assumes responsibility for such publication.
(5) Each Clinical Hypnotherapist shall make provision for the maintenance of confidentiality of all records of clients at all times
Legal Standards
The Clinical Hypnotherapist has the same moral and legal standards of behavior as any other citizen In addition, there is the duty to refrain from unlawful infringement upon the practice of medicine or psychology and to make or recommend appropriate referrals to other professionals when the interest of any it. party requires it.
Public statements, advertisements of services and any other promotional activities shall be presented in a professional manner, providing sufficient factual information to ad the consumer in making informed judgments and choices Members should not disseminate false, misleading or exaggerated claims, nor, offer guarantees or claims of success for any individual client. |
